1. MULTIPLE SEASONS AND LOOKS
After photographing countless couples across New Zealand’s South Island, I’ve often been asked the same question:
“What makes New Zealand so special for pre wedding photos?”
The obvious answer is the scenery.
But honestly, it’s much more than that.
Beautiful landscapes exist all over the world. What makes New Zealand different is how many completely different experiences you can have within a single trip. It’s one of the few places where every day feels like a new adventure, and every location feels like a different chapter of your story together.
2. HELICOPTER ADVENTURES TO REMOTE LOCATIONS
I still remember the reactions of many couples when they first step out onto a remote mountain peak. The excitement, the disbelief, the quiet moment when they take in the view together. Those moments often become some of my favorite photographs because they’re real.

One of the things I personally love most about New Zealand is the sheer variety of landscapes.
Within a relatively short drive, you can move from alpine mountains to crystal clear lakes, from golden grasslands to dramatic coastlines. Some locations feel rugged and adventurous, while others feel peaceful and intimate.
This variety allows couples to create a gallery that feels rich and diverse without needing to travel across multiple countries. Every location brings a different mood, a different atmosphere, and a different story.
5. THE MAGIC OF NEW ZEALAND’S LUPIN FIELDS
You could be walking through vibrant lupin fields, with shades of purple, pink, and blue stretching across the landscape. During blooming season, these flowers transform ordinary locations into something that feels almost dreamlike. Combined with the dramatic mountains in the background, the result is unlike anything most couples have ever seen before.

Away from the city lights, the night sky comes alive. On clear evenings, thousands of stars become visible overhead, creating a backdrop that feels almost impossible to describe until you’ve seen it for yourself. For couples willing to stay out a little longer, these moments often result in some of the most magical images from the entire journey.

Looking back on all the couples I’ve photographed here, I’ve realised that the photos themselves are only part of the reason they fall in love with New Zealand.
